Andrew Hedley is a prominent adviser to the legal and wider professional services sector. He works with the leadership team on issues of vision, strategy, growth, profit enhancement, performance improvement, merger and change management. In addition to project work, he is also much sought after as a strategy group guide, partner retreat speaker, workshop facilitator and moderator.
His firm, Hedley Consulting, is recognised as a leading boutique strategy consultancy within the legal sector with clients ranging from global firms to significant regional players.
Andrew is a respected contributor to specialist strategy and management publications He is a regular keynote conference speaker, media commentator, regularly writes within the sector media and is the author of Developing Strategic Client Relationships (2008), Client Strategy in a Changing Legal Market (2011) and The Law Firm Merger: A Leader's Guide to Strategy & Realisation (2014).
Following his MA, Andrew completed an MBA in 1993. Both focused on professional services strategy and business development. He has approaching 30 years’ experience of managing and advising professional service firms, with more than 20 years focused on the legal sector, prior to which he was the managing director of an architectural practice. He was the business development director of two leading international law firms for nine years before establishing Hedley Consulting in 2005.
Andrew has spoken on the Nottingham Law School's MBA in Legal Practice and the Postgraduate Certificate in Legal Practice Management at Manchester Law School. He is the Course Director of the Cambridge Marketing College Diploma in Professional Services Marketing, the only CIM accredited qualification for those in the professional services sector.
He sits on the Advisory Board of the Managing Partners’ Forum and is the Chairman of the Judging Panel of the MPF Awards for Management Excellence. He has also judged The Lawyer Management Awards and the Legal Marketing Awards. Andrew sat on the Editorial Board of Managing Partner magazine for over a decade as well as the Advisory Boards of the Winmark CEO Network and The Lawyer Business Leadership Summit.
Andrew has been admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, the Strategic Planning Society, the Chartered Management Institute, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Cambridge Marketing College and the Royal Society of Art. He is a member of the Triple Nine Society and sits on the Council of The Naval Club.
